Siljo Sifu Vince Bloomfield

Sifu Vince has been training in the art of Kung Fu since 1988. He first started learning Lau Gar Kung Fu from Master Jeramy Yau and Sifu Dave Rogers (Head Forms Judge of the BCCMA). He was later introduced to a Master Gasan who taught him body conditioning and forms training. In 1994 Siljo Sifu Vince started up his own style of Kung Fu (Siljo meaning founder) which he called Chat Ying Kuen (Seven Different Ways / Animals). To make the school legitimate and to get onto the BCCMA (British Council for Chinese Martial Arts), he and some of his students went to Leicester to show Master Derek Freason (Preying Mantis and Tai Chi Master) what he and they could do. A week later Sifu Vince had a phone call saying that the Chat Ying Kuen Kung Fu Club had been accepted onto the BCCMA.

In 1996-7 Master Bob Weatherall (White Crane and Tai Chi Master, also then Chairman of the BCCMA) came to the club to teach Sifu Vince some traditional forms and the 12 step Beijing Yang Style Tai Chi Ch'uaun form as well as doing a workshop for the students.

In 1998 the club invited Master Zu and Grandmaster Wong to perform and pass on some of their skills and knowledge of Kung Fu and Chi Kung to Sifu Vince and his Students. In the year of 2000 Sifu Vince was introduced to Master Chen Lei through the BCCMA. Master Chen and Sifu Vince spent a long weekend discussing and performing Kung Fu with each other, whereby Sifu Vince was given more knowledge to pass on to his students. Master Chen also did a workshop and a Tai Chi Seminar with the students. This was also the day Sifu Vince was given the title of Sifu.

In 2001 & 2003 Master Chen returned to do more work with Sifu Vince and seminars for the club.

Currently Sifu Vince has a vast knowledge on all aspects of Kung Fu and other Martial Art styles, which include:

  • Lau Gar
  • Wing Chun
  • Lohan
  • Animal Styles
  • Weapons Systems
  • Tongbai
  • Wushu
The Chat Ying Kuen Kung Fu club also boasts a large array of Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals through the BCCMA's National and International Kung Fu tournaments where the students, if they wish to, can take part in the fighting and forms competitions.
